Crazy Dreams, Ancient goddesses

Art is a way to express yourself. Its always fun taking old things apart and putting them together into something new. This piece I made is called Yuna's slumber in dreams. I made it in art class as a assignment. The artwork is created from scrapped and cut out magazine images. Then the tentacles, circles and kimono were colored in with Carioca markers. The background was made with ink sprayed on with a spray bottle. Finally the eye makeup on the woman's face was colored in with a quill and ink.

This artwork is called the Mistress of the Nile. Its a piece of work I did when I had a huge inspiration. I was testing out acrylic painting techniques and then drew a eye and the rest came easily. The background was made with acrylic paint. The face was made with a chisel sharpie and smaller details were made with a normal sharpie. The hair was done with sharpie as well. Then a red 0.7 pen was used for the crosshatching in the hair and face alongside with the crosshatching of a sharpie. The blood from the eyes also are made with this pen. Horus, Anubis, the lotus flowers and the scarab icons are made with sharpie too. Then was colored in with a Carioca marker. final touches for skin tone was done with a Rose art peach colored pencil.
